Island Dining Table from Carrara Marble

We are planning to add an island dining table to our kitchen. Our countertops are made from white Carrara marble – would you advise we use the same marble for our dining table top or go with another natural stone to contrast?

Natural stone can vary greatly in appearance depending on the patterns on each block. It may be impossible to find another slab of the same block with which you did your counters, so I think a contrasting stone is a good bet. Just make sure that the patterns don’t compete, so that there’s a natural flow to your kitchen and dining room. May I suggest 3cm Black Pearl granite? It stains much less than marble and has a crisp clean look. You will love the classy feel throughout your beautiful kitchen and table. Here at Interstone, we have an awesome selection of stones for you to browse through. Remember keep your table well sealed. Here at Interstone Marble and Granite, we sell some excellent Fila brand cleaners and sealers that are quite easy to use.
